Artwork by Magdalena Migas

Look familiar? It should – because it’s me! The painting is part of a collection by Polish artist Magdalena Migas that is scheduled for display at a forthcoming exhibition in Krakow.

I first met Magda at the Europavox music festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France, during the summer of 2006. It was on the train back to Paris afterwards that she took a photo of me as I slept in my seat and used as the basis for this stunning piece of artwork.

As you can see, Magda’s work is quite exceptional and I’m honoured to be the subject of one of her portraits. To view her portfolio, go to www.coroflot.com/megirty.

The resemblance is remarkable, though I’m not too sure about the sleeping bit. Could you not have stayed awake while she drew you? Love the site by the way. Keep up the blog work…

  2. Ah, but you know me… short attention spans and all that!
