I recently came across an intriguing website called CitySounds, which streams music and still images from major cities across the globe. Designed by Henrik Berggren and David Kjelkerud, the site is powered by APIs from SoundCloud and Flickr and music playlists from the various cities are updated in real time as more tracks are added.

Check it out for yourself at www.citysounds.fm.

Artwork by Magdalena Migas

Look familiar? It should – because it’s me! The painting is part of a collection by Polish artist Magdalena Migas that is scheduled for display at a forthcoming exhibition in Krakow.

I first met Magda at the Europavox music festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France, during the summer of 2006. It was on the train back to Paris afterwards that she took a photo of me as I slept in my seat and used as the basis for this stunning piece of artwork.

As you can see, Magda’s work is quite exceptional and I’m honoured to be the subject of one of her portraits. To view her portfolio, go to www.coroflot.com/megirty.
